3 Days FROM Marrakech to Merzouga

At 8 o’clock in the morning, after meeting your driver, you will depart from Marrakech’s Jamaa El Fnaa square to begin your journey to Ouarzazate, passing through the High Atlas Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m altitude). Enjoy a stop at the top of the Atlas Mountains Tizi n Tichka for photography before continuing to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.

Ait Ben Haddou is the first major sightseeing stop of the day. This Berber-fortified village is a UNESCO-listed landmark and has served as a filming location for famous Hollywood epics such as the Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator. Take your time to explore the village after crossing the river separating the Kasbah from the main road.

Next, you’ll have a photography stop to admire the view of Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate. Afterward, there will be a short break at El Kelaa M’gouna, where you can capture the beautiful scenery of the roses valley. If you visit in April, you’ll witness the start of rose picking season, and in the first week of May, a 3-day festival celebrating roses takes place. You’ll also find cosmetics products made with rose oil available in the local associations.

As you continue your journey, there will be panoramic view stops along the way in Dades Valley before finally reaching your accommodation for the night at Hotel Bougafer Tinghir or Luxury Riad Dades, or a similar option.

After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our journey to visit the Gargantas del Todra (Todra Gorges) and the picturesque grove of Todgha.

Continuing our desert road, we will pass through Erfoud, known as the capital of fossils, and the Berber villages of Tinejdad. Our adventure will then take us to the awe-inspiring dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga.

In the Merzouga Desert, we will leave our vehicle and embark on a camel ride through the mesmerizing dunes. You will have the unique experience of spending the night in nomad tents amidst the vast dunes, relishing the tranquility under the twinkling stars. A delightful dinner will be served at the bivouac, making it an unforgettable night in the heart of the desert.

After enjoying an early breakfast, you’ll return to the main road where you’ll meet your driver. The journey continues to Kelaat Mgouna, also known as the roses valley, where a lunch stop will be made to savor the surroundings.

Next, we head to Ouarzazate, a city located in the Draa-Tafilalet region, known for its historical significance and film industry.

Passing through the scenic Tizi n Tichka pass in the Atlas Mountains, we make our way back to Marrakech.

Finally, we arrive at our final destination, Marrakech, and your driver will drop you off at your accommodation, marking the end of the service.
