Today we will have a full day walking tour to discover Fes, the extraordinary medieval walled city. Once inside the gates of this great spectacle, you will see an entirely different view of life in Morocco. In contrast to the well-planned new cities, the old city is a labyrinth of alleys and lanes lined with shops, mosques, homes and schools. In 1980 UNESCO designated the medina a World Heritage Site. We will start by visiting the Royal Palace and Jewish quarter, then theological schools and several mosques. Our guide will take us to the medina to view the market shops or souks. We will see the famous traditional tannery factory and shops of tailoring handicraft. Today’s walk is an amazing look into the life of the Moroccan city-dweller where little has changed over the centuries.
Morning, we will start our journey by discovering Meknes, Morocco’s youngest Imperial City. We feature the Bab El Mansour gate dating from 1752, complete with its Corinthian columns. Then we drive to visit the impressive site of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco. Situated on the ledge of a long plateau, the dramatic site was once one of the Roman Empire’s most remote outposts. After we will drive to blue city Chefchaouen, one of the prettiest towns in Morocco. We will walk through picturesque blue alleyways of the medina, visiting Outa Hamam Square with 14th-century fortress. Then we will explore the grand mosque of Chefchaouen, the only octagonal minaret in Morocco and enjoy RAs El Ma (fresh mountain water trickles).

Today, our journey takes us to Rabat, the modern capital of Morocco and the country’s third oldest imperial city. After a hearty breakfast, we set out on a scenic drive to Rabat, where history and modernity intertwine to create a dynamic and vibrant city.

Upon arrival in Rabat, we begin our exploration with a visit to the iconic Hassan Tower, a symbol of Rabat’s rich architectural heritage. Marvel at the imposing minaret, which stands as a testament to the city’s illustrious past and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Next, we pay our respects at the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the final resting place of Morocco’s beloved monarchs. Admire the elegant architecture and tranquil ambiance of this sacred site, where the legacy of Morocco’s royal family lives on.

Continuing our exploration, we delve into the heart of Rabat’s old medina, where narrow streets and bustling markets beckon with their colorful array of sights, sounds, and smells. Stroll through the maze-like alleyways, encountering ancient mosques, traditional hammams, and artisan workshops along the way.

After a morning of discovery, we break for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor the flavors of authentic Moroccan cuisine.

In the afternoon, we resume our exploration of Rabat, taking in the sights and sounds of this dynamic city.
